Dr Jagdeesh Chandra shared a heartfelt tribute to Shri Ramoji Rao, the head of Telugu news and entertainment network ETV and founder of Ramoji Film City, who passed away at 87 in Hyderabad on Saturday morning. Emphasising the profound sense of loss felt nationwide, particularly in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, Dr Chandra remarked, “The entire nation mourns the passing of Shri Ramoji Rao. He was a paragon of fearless and impartial journalism, unwavering in his commitment to the truth. His core belief was that neutral and independent news is paramount.”

Ramoji Rao's lifelong crusade against political corruption, especially his recent revelations about the Jagan government, underscored his dedication to integrity. Dr Chandra recounted a recent conversation with Rao, who expressed optimism about Chandrababu Naidu's impending government in Hyderabad, viewing Naidu as a figure poised to drive development. Dr Chandra noted, “Rao and Naidu shared a deep bond, with Rao affectionately referring to Naidu as ‘Babu.’ It is a profound loss that Rao passed away before witnessing Naidu’s swearing-in as Chief Minister on June 12.”
