Abby Awards 2024: Leo Burnett, FCB win big; ZEEL is broadcaster of the year
On Day 2 of the ABBY Awards held during the ongoing Goafest 2024, Leo Burnett India bagged the Specialist Agency of the Year award in four categories namely Technology, Mobile, Direct and Digital. FCB Group India was declared the Public Relations and Design Specialist Agency of the Year. FCB Group India also won the two Grand Prix of the day. Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) won the Broadcaster of the Year. In the Technology category, Leo Burnett India won two silver and five bronze metals and four merits. The seven metals together earned them 36 points. FCB Group India won a Grand Prix, one gold and one bronze metals alongside two merits in this category. With the three metals, they earned 26 points on the tally table. Hardcastle Restaurant won a silver and a bronze each in this category.

FCB Group India won one Grand Prix for the #Lulumelon campaign for HDFC in the Technology category for use of AI. The other Grand Prix was won by the agency in the Direct category under the work done for social awareness for STIR Design Magazine’s Untangling The Politics Of Hair campaign.

In the Direct category, Leo Burnett topped the tally table with 26 points winning two silver and three bronze metals. FCB Group India, along with their Grand Prix, also won a silver metal to earn a total of 20 points. Star India won a gold metal in this category to earn eight points. For the Mobile category, Leo Burnett won a gold, silver and bronze each earning 18 points. They won the gold for the #SmartFarm campaign for Lays under the subcategory Mobile Technology. RedBus won two metals in this head - a silver and a bronze - to earn 10 points. Flipkart won a gold in this category to earn eight points. In the Digital category, Leo Burnett India won two gold, four silver and two bronze metals as well as six merita, with a total of 54 points. The Gatorade Turf Finder campaign and Flipkart’s How To Make Mistakes Successfully won them their two golds in this category. With one gold, two silvers and three bronzes, FCB Group India was placed second in this category with a total of 32 points. RedBus, with two silver and bronzes each, earned a total of 21 points in this category. FCB came up top in the Design category with two bronzes that earned them 10 points. Brave with one silver metal and three merits earned 9 points to win the second position in the category while Creative Land Asia stood third with one silver that earned them 6 points. In the Public Relations category, FCB Group India won one gold for the STIR Design Magazine's Untangling The Politics of Hair campaign and three silvers for the subcategory PR practices and specialities - events and experiential. With 27 points, earned at the back of the four metals and a merit, they topped the category. At the second place was Leo Burnett India with one gold, two silvers and a merit that earned them 21 points. Tribes Communication won a silver and a bronze to earn 10 points. ZEEL was declared broadcaster of the year with two golds, 10 silvers and 6 bronzes earned a total of hundred points. They earned the golds for &xplorHD’s composite promo showing its movie line up and Zee Bangla Kon Gopone Mon Bhesheche title track. Zee Kannanda, meanwhile, won a gold, four silvers and eight bronzes to accumulate 66 points on the tally table. TV 18 also won a gold in this category earning 8 points.
