Women Economic Forum -PEOPLE BUY INTO THE BRAND YOU ARE

The first day of Women Economic Forum held at New Delhi saw leading entrepreneurs and businesswomen from various fields. The theme for the five day event this year is “The Economics of Goodness: Empowering Potential, Engineering change”. Speaking at the session “People Buy Into The Brand You Are”, Shamila Ramjawan, Founder & Co owner, Famram solutions shared her journey, “I lost my husband who was in the police force. I was in the middle of my Marketing Diploma when he passed on.  Keeping in mind that I have two little children to bring up and be their support structure is something that drove me.  I realised that you need to educate yourselves to get something in the world. That’s when I decided to resume my studies and from there on I have never looked back.” She spoke at length about her  inspiring entreprenureal journey and about how she founded the Princess D Menstrual Cup which is eco friendly, hygienic, affordable and reusable (for upto ten years) and its success globally. Sarah Richson, CEO, Richmele International Limited, while speaking at the session about ‘using Linkedin to leverage your personal brands’ shared a similarly inspiring story. The session ended with Kuku Singh,Managing Director, Tatva Leadership & Management Services Pvt. Ltd adding more light on building yourself as a brand, "Leadership is all about influencing. The way we talk, the way we walk, the way we speak, we are finally trying to influence. People buy into you before they buy into what you are going to sell. A brand is a perception that people have of you and this perception matters. The most critical part of building a brand are your roots. The roots are your attitudes, your beliefs, values. They are the core.”
