Google has arrived at a deal with Canada to keep news stories in search results by paying 100 million Canadian dollars every year to news publishers, media networks have reported.

This comes in the wake of the tech giant's concerns about Canada's online news law under which internet companies have to share advertising revenue with news publishers.

In a statement quoted by news reports, the Canadian Heritage Minister has said that they have "found a path forward with Google for the implementation of the Online News Act".
