The Vivo Pro Kabaddi Player Auctions 2018 redefined the Kabaddi Ecosystem:

·         Raider Prashant Kumar Rai bags the highest Bid as a Category B player in PKL history, bought by U.P Yoddhas, netting a spectacular price of INR 79 Lakhs ·         Monu Goyat at INR 1.51 crores took the title of highest paid player in Kabaddi history surpassing Nitin Tomar’s 93 Lakh bid in Season V ·         Total INR 45.93 crore was spent by the Franchises over the last two days! ·         A total number of 181 players were bought by the 12 franchises (subject to final confirmation)

 VIVO Pro Kabaddi, India’s biggest non-cricket sports league, concluded the Season 6 Player Auctions on a historic note. Monu Goyat shattered all records in the Kabaddi ecosystem netting a spectacular 1.51 crores, becoming the highest payed non-cricket sportsman in Kabaddi history. Among the foreign players, it was Fazel Atrachali who had the highest pay day after netting a whopping 1 crore sum. Other Star Marquee Players like Rahul Chaudhari who was retained by Telugu Titans via FBM for 1.29 crores, Deepak Niwas Hooda who was bought by Jaipur Pink Panthers for 1.15 crores and Nitin Tomar who was bought by Puneri Paltans for 1.15 crores were critical acquisitions in the auction. At the end, a total of INR45.93 crore was spent on 422 players, a huge jump from the season 5 auctions.   While Day 1 was dominated by Category-A stars, Day 2 saw the franchises strategically planning to construct the perfect balance between experienced and young players, to craft winning teams. On Day 2 of the auction, Indian players from Category B, C and D, went under the hammer. Prashant Kumar Rai secured the highest bid on Day 2 acquired by Team U.P Yoddhas, for an amount of INR 79 Lakhs.   Anupam Goswami, League Commissioner, VIVO Pro Kabaddi said, “With the addition of a score of talented individuals, Season VI of VIVO Pro Kabaddi has now begun! Franchises prepared strategic plans, and were seen bidding fiercely over the course of the 2 days. Every squad now has an excellent amalgamation of domestic, overseas and some talented young players. I want to congratulate Monu Goyat for being the highest bid player in the auctions, and also wish every drafted player the best for the anticipated sixth season of the league.”
