Barbeque Nation launches campaign to celebrate milestone of crossing 100 outlets

Association with ‘HelpAge India’ for the campaign to highlight the plight of 9 crore elderly people. Launched a short film to promote the campaign, #GrillForACause on digital & social media platforms Barbeque Nation, India’s leading casual dining restaurant has launched a digital campaign, #GrillForACause, to celebrate the occasion of operating more than 100 outlets in the country. Launched in association with ‘HelpAge India’, a not for profit organization, caring for disadvantaged elderly citizens, the campaign aims to spread awareness and raise funds for supporting their cause. Barbeque Nation embarked upon a unique initiative to celebrate its success by giving back something to the society. It initiated a weeklong event from 28th March to 3rd April, calling upon people to dine at the restaurant and join the enterprise in making a contribution which would be channelized through the NGO to support the elderly in need. The organization also contributed a rupee each for engagement on social media using the hashtag campaign, being promoted on Twitter, Facebook and a microsite, www.mybarbequenation.com, created for the same. Barbeque Nation has launched a 95 second film to highlight and strengthen the cause, which is being promoted on digital and social media. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-K2mjz4MnT0&feature=share Speaking about the campaign, Sameer Bhasin, CEO, Barbeque Nation Hospitality Ltd, said, “We are extremely delighted with our accomplishment of crossing 100 restaurants and are celebrating the occasion with our guests and fans through our campaign #GrillForACause, in association with HelpAge India. It would be agonising to know that out of the 10 crore elderly people in India, 90% of them cannot afford a single meal and we have decided to put in our best efforts to support their cause. I urge the community at large to join us in making a difference to our elders in need.” Added, Mathew Cherian, CEO, HelpAge India, “We have 10.4 crore elderly out of which 5.5 crore go to sleep without any food in their stomach. It is a sad state of our nation and HelpAge India is thankful to Barbeque Nation for taking up this initiative through #GrillForACause.”
