Senior business leader Ajay Sharma joins Prasar Bharati
Ajay Sharma who has over 24 plus years of leadership experience in media and broadcasting domain and is considered a turnaround and business growth expert with expertise in government relations and revenues is likely to look after and lead Corporate, Government and Retail Sales and revenue generation practice.
Sharma started his career with The Pioneer in 2000 where he worked for three years. Post Pioneer, Sharma joined The Indian Express where he worked for over 2 years. Post this stint in two print publications, Sharma joined India TV from 2005 to 2007. Sharma had a long stint with ABP News Network from 2007 to 2015 where he spent 8 years in a leadership position and contributed significantly. ABP News was then called Star News. From 2015 to 2018, Sharma was with News Nation and from 2018 to 2023 worked at Zee Media Corporation for a 5 years stint as a National Head . Post that Sharma joined the ITV group parent of India News and News X for a short stint .
He has a solid reputation of creating turnaround through growth in revenue. Sharma is also well versed in media relations, strategic alliances and partnerships; he understands coordination with central government authorities and channel and account management. He has led large teams in the past .
Sharma will report into and work with the DDG Sanjay Prasad.
