I&B Secretary Sanjay Jaju met representatives of the Digital News Publishers Association on Wednesday regarding the demand for a revenue-sharing mechanism with the big tech firms, media networks have reported.
The meeting was attended by other government officials too.
The DNPA has alleged that Google has denied publishers a fair share of revenue by parting only a portion of the digital advertising revenue with news websites.
In an earlier development, over 70 per cent of DNPA members had restricted access to Microsoft's OpenAI.
