Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra logs on to twitter and creates a buzz within an hour

Baiting out the new campaigns or making any new announcement, political parties have almost captivated your personal screens as well: All praises to the strong social media team! It was until Monday, when a formal tweet from the official account of Congress rolled out welcoming the Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on twitter, social media was shook by a wave and within an hour the leader was welcomed by approx 45k followers on twitter. ELECTIONS ON THE GO, WHO WILL PLAY BETTER THIS TIME WITH SOCIAL MEDIA ENTHU! It’s been less than 24 hours and the leader had seen massive attraction of 10lac followers on the microblogging site. So is it a counter attack to the ruling party just before the elections or should we say Congress has buckled up its game and learnt the lesson from 2014 elections. Her logging on to Twitter with the account @priyankagandhi also came on the day of her maiden visit to Uttar Pradesh as an AICC general secretary. She was yet to post her first tweet when the number of her first tweet when the number of her followers crossed the one- lakh mark which has made her a Superstar of social media. Comparing her first-day popularity on the micro-blogging website to that of Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor hailed her as a "new superstar on social media". "Given that Priyanka Gandhi has had only 12 hours on Twitter (so far) and she has got one lakh followers she seems to be on course to rival Rajinikanth. Looks like a new superstar on social media is born”, he told PTI. Since the leader has joined the twitter bandwagon, the result still awaits of how helpful it is going to be for the Congress and how party will maximise its marketing reach through social media in 2019 elections.
